DIRECTIONS IN ETHNOMETHODOLOGY AND CONVERSATION ANALYSIS

The IIEMCA is pleased to announce this major new book series. Directions in Ethnomethodology and Conversation Analysis will present current work in EM/CA, including research monographs, edited collections and theoretical studies. It will be essential reading for specialists in the field as well as those who wish to know more about this major approach to human action. The series will display the interdisciplinary character of EM/CA. From its origins within sociology, EM/CA has ramified across a wide range of human science disciplines, including anthropology, social psychology, linguistics, communication studies and social studies of technology.

The Series Editors are David Francis (Manchester Metropolitan University) and Stephen Hester (University of Wales, Bangor). They are supported by an Advisory Board, which includes Harold Garfinkel, Mike Lynch, Wes Sharrock, Carolyn Baker, Paul Ten Have, Jeff Coulter, Anne Rawls and Rod Watson.

PROPOSALS

Book proposals (500 words) are invited from scholars in the above mentioned disciplines, and others not mentioned. Among the areas to be covered in the series are: Conversation analysis; Institutional talk; Membership categorisation analysis; Visually available order; Situated reasoning; Workplace studies; Local orders of instructed action; Culture as practice; Philosophy and theory of action. All proposals will be considered by the Series Editors in conjunction with members of the Advisory Board.
